Overview

The Camp Nurse Manager serves as the leader of the Camp Loyaltown Health Center, responsible for directing and coordinating all operations rather than functioning primarily as a bedside nurse. This position focuses on leadership, supervision, and compliance, including hiring, training, and managing Health Center staff; overseeing budgets, schedules, and payroll; and ensuring adherence to ACA, DOH, and agency standards. The Nurse Manager collaborates with camp leadership to plan for each season, screens campers for admission, and ensures that medical protocols and documentation systems are followed. While providing clinical oversight as needed, the Nurse Manager’s primary role is to maintain a well-staffed, compliant, and efficiently operate a Health Center that supports the health and safety of all campers and staff. Direct clinical coverage is expected only during emergencies, call-outs, or staffing shortages, and the Nurse Manager must be immediately available on call 24/7 during camp sessions (within 30 minutes), unless alternate coverage is arranged.
