Overview

Oversees respite operations of the Citizens Respite Program. Ensures staff are trained in to meet all federal, state, and department of health regulations, and agency policy and procedures. Develops, implements and assists in facilitating programming year round to meet the respite needs of individuals and families.

Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities inlcude but not limited to:

 

  • Practices and promotes the agency’s mission statement in every interaction.
  • Adheres to all regulations, agency policy and procedures, the employee handbook, and agency and program training requirements
  • Reports to the Justice Center as a mandated reporter, if there is reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect. Additionally, must follow all agency incident policy and procedures.
  • Coordinates the programming for the day to day operations of the respite program. Coordinates the teaching and implementation of activities for all individuals supported and staff, while working as a team. Develops, revises, and trains all staff on camp programming policy and procedures to ensure all staff remain in compliance.
  • Prepares all training materials for programming and meetings to ensure appropriate preparation for programming is accomplished.
  • Ensures all staff are trained and adhere to all federal, state, and department of health regulations and agency policy and procedures.
  • Leads, supports, and directs staff effectively to accomplish year round program.
  • Facilitates respite programs when necessary.
  • Investigates problems and takes needed corrective action to ensure that individuals’ needs are addressed. Reports and documents as per regulation and/or agency policy and procedures any events and activities that may hinder the health, safety, and well-being of people at respite (i.e., allegations of abuse, injuries, broken equipment, etc.)
  • Implements and administers the quality assurance program for respite and ensures that respite remains in compliance with OPWDD regulations, as well as respite policy and procedures. CITIZENS HUMAN RESOURCES
  • Implements and completes all internal incident reports/investigations for review by Citizens internal review board.
  • Develops and ensures adherence to annual budgets.
  • Acts as a liaison between program and the local community/schools to increase community partnerships at respite throughout the year.
  • Participates in the ordering of needed materials for activities.

    Performs all other related duties as requested by the Assistant Director, Director, Vice President, Chief Operations Officer, and/or CEO.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in teaching or related fields preferred or ability to obtain the degree.
  • Experience within the field of camping/recreation and experience supporting people with developmental disabilities preferred. Excellent interpersonal, leadership and
    communication skills required.
  • Prior administrative experience preferred.
